Pune: A young woman, who was on her way home in an auto-rickshaw, was allegedly molested by an auto-rickshaw driver. The incident took place on Tuesday night in Vishrantwadi area.

The police arrested the auto driver in this connection. The 27-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Vishrantwadi police station. The complainant's friend bought a new bike.

A friend hosted a banquet at a hotel to mark the occasion. The girl then left the hotel around 12.30 pm. She registered for the rickshaw through the app.

After a short distance, the auto driver looked in the mirror and performed an obscene act in front of the girl. Panicked, the girl lodged a complaint at the police station.

The police traced the number of the auto given by the girl and arrested the auto driver. He will be produced in court. Senior police inspector Kanchan Jadhav visited the spot. Further investigation is being carried out by police sub-inspector Tarachand Sudge.
