Pune: In a shocking incident, a parking dispute in Balewadi's High Street area escalated into violence as four individuals attacked two others with a bat.

One of the victims, identified as Pratik Balwadkar, sustained severe head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. The Baner Police have arrested three suspects—Shubham Patil, Ashwin Pawara, and Mayur Patil—while one accomplice is still absconding.

The altercation reportedly began on January 23, around 12:15 a.m., when Pratik Balwadkar called his friend Om Bangar (23) to meet him near the High Street area.

Bangar, accompanied by his friend Harshal, joined Balwadkar, and the three began chatting near the spot. Shortly thereafter, the accused arrived in a car, leading to a dispute over parking space.

Although the argument initially subsided after intervention, the accused returned around 12:45 a.m. and attacked Om Bangar with a bat. When Pratik Balwadkar attempted to intervene, he was struck on the head, leaving him critically injured.

The attackers fled the scene as Balwadkar collapsed. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital for medical treatment. Assistant Police Inspector B.R. Zharekar, who is investigating the case, stated that the three arrested suspects have been charged, while efforts are underway to trace the fourth accomplice.
