Pune: The Hadapsar police have arrested three individuals for assaulting and causing a disturbance at the Bank of Maharashtra’s Phursungi branch over a delay in the verification of documents under the "Ladki Bahin Yojana."

The incident, which took place in the morning hours, led to chaos in the bank as the accused verbally abused and physically manhandled the branch manager.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ganesh Madhukar Hole, Nikhil Sanjay Mulik, and Akshay Anil Raskar, all residents of Kalepadal, Hadapsar.

According to the complaint filed by the branch manager, Ganesh’s wife had applied for benefits under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, and her bank account is in the Phursungi branch.

On October 5, around 10:30 AM, Ganesh arrived at the bank with the necessary documents for account verification, as required by the scheme. However, the bank was crowded at the time.

Ganesh, impatient to have his documents verified, demanded immediate attention. The bank manager, citing the crowd, asked Ganesh to wait his turn in line. This led to an argument between the two. Frustrated, Ganesh left the bank, only to return shortly with his associates, Nikhil and Akshay.

The trio caused a commotion inside the bank, shouting and verbally abusing the manager. Matters escalated further when they physically assaulted the manager before fleeing the scene.

The Hadapsar police were alerted, and an investigation led to the arrest of all three accused. Assistant Police Inspector Nanasahab Jadhav is handling the investigation.
