Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar conducted an inspection of the nearly completed Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Medad, Baramati, which is being constructed at an approximate cost of ₹325 crore. The visit focused on the final phases of construction, including painting and furniture installation.

The college, established on July 20, 2021, accommodates 100 students and includes a 100-bed Ayurvedic hospital. Covering 30 acres, the ambitious project reflects the state’s commitment to promoting Ayurvedic education and accessible healthcare. Ajit Pawar’s contribution to securing funds and overseeing the project at the government level has been pivotal to its progress.

During the visit, Pawar discussed ongoing tasks with officials and finalized plans for additional facilities, including the allocation of land for a crematorium in Medad. “The college is poised to become a beacon of healthcare and Ayurvedic education,” said Dean Dr. Anil Kale.

Prominent officials accompanying Pawar included Sub-Divisional Officer Vaibhav Navadkar, Tehsildar Ganesh Shinde, Senior Public Works Officer Atul Chavan, and Executive Engineer Amol Pawar, along with local representatives Ganesh Kashid, Arjun Yadav, and Ajit Kamble.

This ambitious project is expected to not only serve as a hub for Ayurvedic studies but also provide effective healthcare to the community.
