Pune: The Kapurhol-Bhor-Mandhardevi road will remain closed until January 5 to facilitate the ongoing widening and concreting work. Acting District Collector Santosh Patil issued the order following a request from the Executive Engineer of the South Public Works Department, citing vehicular traffic as a major hindrance to the construction process. During this period, traffic will be diverted to alternative routes.

The Shri Kshetra Mandhardevi Kaleshwari Devi Yatra is scheduled to take place from January 12 to January 29. Large numbers of devotees from across the state are expected to visit during this period. Many pilgrims travel to the shrine of Shri Kalubai Devi via Bhor and Ambade through the Ambadkhind Ghat route.

Currently, the Bhor-Mandhardevi road is undergoing widening and cementing work. Most of the road is in poor condition, and safety measures have not yet been implemented in the ghat sections.

The Ambadkhind Ghat leading to Mandhardevi starts as a single road. Road construction in the mid-section of the ghat is ongoing, with traffic currently allowed only on one side.

This could lead to severe traffic congestion. Additionally, the absence of safety barriers in the area raises the risk of accidents, necessitating the road's temporary closure.
