Pune, 3rd December 2024: A four-year-old girl from Bihar, who had gone missing while visiting Bhosari to attend a family wedding, was safely reunited with her mother thanks to the timely intervention of vigilant citizens and local authorities.
The Pal family had traveled from Bihar to Adinath Nagar in Bhosari three days earlier for a wedding. On Monday afternoon, little Trupti was given money to buy snacks and stepped out around 2 PM. However, the child lost her way and ended up wandering from Adinath Nagar to Landewadi, visibly distressed.
Around 3 PM, a concerned citizen noticed Trupti crying on the road and brought her to the Landewadi office of Adv. Nitin Landge, a former municipal corporator. Trupti, who appeared frightened and exhausted, was comforted by Landge and his team. She eventually fell asleep in the office.
Realizing the urgency, Adv. Landge circulated her photo on social media and mobilized volunteers to search nearby housing societies for her family. He also contacted Bhosari Police Station to report the incident.
Meanwhile, a friend of Adv. Landge residing in Adinath Nagar identified the Pal family as guests in the area. Upon visiting their residence, it was confirmed that Trupti was part of their family.
Bhosari police personnel Suhas Bhos and Mohan Pawar promptly reached Landge’s office with Trupti’s mother, Rani Pal, and her maternal uncle.
Following identity verification, the police handed over Trupti to her mother. The emotional reunion saw Trupti clinging to her mother while both wept tears of relief and joy.
The Pal family revealed that they were unaware of Trupti’s disappearance initially, assuming she had accompanied her father, Ajay Pal.
The wedding activities at home had diverted everyone’s attention until inquiries revealed she was missing.
