Removing Outdated Entries: Obsolete remarks, repaid agricultural loans, settled mortgages, resolved land disputes, and outdated inheritance claims will be systematically removed from the 7/12 extract.
Updating Ownership and Tenancy: Only current, rightful ownership and tenancy details will be retained, ensuring the document reflects the present status of the land.
Public Land Records: Entries related to public lands, such as cremation grounds, will be updated for clarity and transparency.
Farmers and landowners often face significant difficulties due to outdated entries in their 7/12 extracts. These issues can delay or complicate:
Availing agricultural loans
Buying or selling land
Accessing government schemes and subsidies
Resolving inheritance and ownership disputes
By cleaning up these records, the government aims to make land transactions smoother and ensure that rightful owners can access benefits without unnecessary hurdles.
Special camps will be held at the taluka and circle levels, supervised by District Collectors and Sub-Divisional Officers, to expedite the update process and resolve long-pending cases. Updated 7/12 extracts will be available online through the Mahabhulekh portal, allowing users to view, download, and verify their land records digitally. Applicants can track the status of their mutation or update requests online, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
