Bhushi Dam: Five people swept away during monsoon outing in Lonavala

Pune: In a tragic incident, five individuals, including children and women, were swept away in Bhushi Dam while on a monsoon outing. The tourists were at a waterfall in the forest behind Bhushi Dam when they were carried away by the water.

Rescue operations are currently underway to locate them. The police have identified the group as members of the Ansari family.

The Ansari family was enjoying the scenic beauty and the waterfall (backwater) above Bhushi Dam when the incident occurred. According to Lonavala police, the five individuals were swept away from the waterfall into the dam.

This area, popular with tourists from all corners of the state, has seen a surge in visitors. The Bhushi Dam is overflowing, attracting large crowds despite the risks.
