New Delhi: Dr. Pradeep Dixit, the chairman of Sikandrabad Nagar Palika and a BJP leader, has reportedly offered a bounty of Rs 1 crore for the beheading of Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Saayoni Ghosh, allegedly in response to an old derogatory social media post concerning a Shivling.

I offer daily worship to Lord Shiva for an hour. The actions of TMC MP Saayoni Ghosh have caused me profound distress. In a widely circulated video, Dixit can be heard stating, as reported by the Times of India, that a reward of Rs 1 crore will be given to anyone who brings Saayoni Ghosh’s severed head.

However, the head of the civic body later refuted having made any such remark and asserted that the video had been altered using artificial intelligence technology to tarnish his reputation, News 18 reported.

For those unaware, the social media post under discussion was originally published in 2015 and reappeared in 2021, as well as during the most recent West Bengal elections.

An FIR had previously been filed against Ghosh in connection with the post. Ghosh explained that her account had been hacked in 2015 and that the image was uploaded by the hacker. She stated that the post was removed as soon as she regained control of her account.
