Pune: In a strict crackdown on noise pollution caused by modified Bullet motorcycles, the traffic police have destroyed 1,768 illegally modified silencers using a bulldozer. This action is part of the ongoing "Bullet Silencer Special Drive", aimed at curbing the nuisance of excessively loud motorcycles.

Increasing Public Complaints Over Noise Pollution

Over the past few months, the city has witnessed a surge in reckless driving and illegal modifications of motorcycles. Young riders frequently modify their Bullet silencers to produce deafening noise levels, disturbing residents in public and residential areas.

Many citizens, especially senior citizens and women, have complained about the continuous noise disturbance. Taking these grievances seriously, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar directed strict action against those using and selling such silencers.

Bulldozer Used to Destroy Confiscated Silencers

Under the police operation, traffic department officials seized 1,768 modified silencers from various locations across the city. In a symbolic and strict action, the police crushed the silencers with a bulldozer, sending a strong message against illegal vehicle modifications.

Garage Owners to Face Legal Action

Apart from targeting motorcycle users, the police are now focusing on garage owners who sell and install these illegal silencers. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende stated that the operation will continue, and legal action will be taken against those involved in modifying or selling loud silencers.

The traffic police urge citizens to follow regulations and avoid illegal modifications that contribute to noise pollution and disrupt public peace.
