Pune: A tragic road accident at Manik Chowk in Chakan on Thursday (January 16) left a nine-year-old girl dead and her mother critically injured, while another woman sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred around 12:30 PM on the Chakan-Shikrapur road when a container truck collided with a two-wheeler carrying the victims.

The deceased has been identified as Dhanashree Ambadas Gadhve, a nine-year-old girl. In the mishap, the container’s wheel ran over Dhanashree's leg, causing severe injuries. Despite undergoing treatment, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday, leaving the family and the local community in deep shock.

Dhanashree's mother, who was riding the two-wheeler with her, also suffered grave injuries, as the container’s wheel crushed her leg as well. She is currently undergoing treatment. Another woman on the same two-wheeler sustained critical injuries.

The container driver reportedly caused havoc after the accident, ramming into multiple vehicles on the Chakan-Shikrapur road before being stopped. The Gadhve family is financially struggling and had been grappling with the expenses for treatment. The sudden loss of Dhanashree has dealt an emotional and financial blow to the grieving family.
