Pune: A tragic road accident on the Chakan-Shikrapur highway claimed the lives of a father and his two school-going sons on Monday (January 6) morning. The incident occurred when a speeding truck collided with their motorcycle near Pimple Jagtap village. The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Khedkar and his sons Tanmay and Shivam.

Details of the Accident

According to police reports, Ganesh Khedkar was on his way with his two sons, Tanmay (a third-grade student) and Shivam (a second-grade student), when their motorcycle was hit by a truck transporting fodder. The collision was so severe that all three victims died on the spot.

The truck driver, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, was apprehended by local villagers immediately after the incident and handed over to the Shikrapur police. While the villagers alleged that the driver was intoxicated, the police have stated that the facts will be confirmed after a medical examination.

Sub-divisional Police Officer Prashant Dhole visited the accident site. The police have detained the truck driver, and efforts are underway to file charges against him.
