Pune: A music concert by singer Diljit Dosanjh is planned at the Kakade Farm area in Kothrud, Pune, with expected attendance exceeding 50,000 people.

The event has sparked controversy and significant opposition from the local community, with complaints ranging from noise concerns to traffic disruptions. Senior BJP leader and MLA from Kothrud, Chandrakant Patil, has now intervened, calling on authorities to cancel the event immediately.

Chandrakant Patil issued a formal statement clarifying his position. He stated, “As both the local MLA and a citizen of Pune, I strongly oppose the Diljit Dosanjh concert scheduled at Kakade Farm in Kothrud. My opposition stems not only from the planned sale of alcohol but also from concerns over traffic congestion and excessive noise pollution caused by such events.”

He further revealed that he has already instructed the Police Commissioner, the Excise Department, and the District Collector to cancel the concert to protect public order and community comfort.

Patil voiced strong objections to what he described as “social nuisances” resulting from such large-scale events. He warned that if the concert were to go ahead, the BJP would respond with a large protest rally, which he himself would lead.

With only a few hours remaining before the concert is set to begin, all eyes are now on the administration to see how they will respond to Patil’s directives.
