Senior BJP leader and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Chandrakant Patil has pledged comprehensive support for women’s empowerment and girls’ education in Mulshi Taluka, Pune. The announcement was made during a special community event attended by local leaders, educators, parents, and hundreds of women from the region.
Addressing the gathering, Chandrakant Patil emphasized the crucial role of education and economic independence in empowering women and transforming communities. “When women and girls are given equal opportunities, the entire society progresses. Our government is committed to ensuring that every girl in Mulshi Taluka has access to quality education and that women are supported in their journey toward self-reliance,” he said.
Patil highlighted the government’s resolve to bridge the gender gap in education and employment, especially in semi-urban and rural areas where traditional barriers often hinder women’s advancement.
Expansion of scholarship programs for girls at primary, secondary, and higher education levels, with special incentives for those from economically weaker sections.Establishment of vocational training centers focused on digital literacy, tailoring, entrepreneurship, and other skills to boost women’s employability and income-generating capabilities.
Commitment to improving school infrastructure, including the construction of separate toilets for girls, provision of safe transport, and better classroom facilities. Launch of awareness campaigns and health check-up drives to address issues like anemia, menstrual hygiene, and malnutrition among adolescent girls. Increased funding and training for SHGs to encourage micro-enterprises and collective economic activities.
The announcement was met with enthusiasm by local residents and community leaders. “This is a much-needed step for our villages. Education and empowerment will help our daughters dream bigger and achieve more,” said Sunita Jadhav, a Mulshi-based school principal.
Chandrakant Patil also stressed the importance of changing mindsets and promoting gender equality at home and in society. He urged families to support their daughters’ ambitions and called on local panchayats and NGOs to partner with the government in implementing these initiatives.
