Chandrapur District Prison Launches Beauty Parlor Training for Female Inmates

Professional trainers Avani Kasamgotuwar and Vaishali Pandile conducted the first session, where they emphasized how beauty parlor skills could provide inmates with employment opportunities.

Pune: In a significant step towards inmate rehabilitation and skill development, Chandrapur District Prison, in association with the Inner Wheel Club of Chandrapur, inaugurated a 15-day "Beauty Parlor" training program for female inmates.

The initiative, driven by Superintendent of Chandrapur District Prison, Anupkumar Kumre, aims to equip female prisoners with vocational skills to support their livelihood post-release. The program was officially inaugurated by Suchita Jeurkar, President of Inner Wheel Club of Chandrapur, who cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Providing Livelihood Skills for a Better Future

Professional trainers Avani Kasamgotuwar and Vaishali Pandile conducted the first session, where they emphasized how beauty parlor skills could provide inmates with employment opportunities and financial independence after their release.

The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Kavita Jhade, Vaishali Adkine, Sweta Maske, Alka Chandekar, Vidya Taksande, Ashwini Turankar, Rajani Gurnule, and Sheetal Bhagat.

Empowering 39 Female Inmates Through Training

A total of 39 female inmates have enrolled in the program, which is expected to provide them with practical skills and a pathway towards self-sufficiency upon reintegration into society.

This initiative aligns with the Maharashtra Prisons Department's motto of "Reformation and Rehabilitation," reinforcing the commitment to providing inmates with second chances and meaningful opportunities for a better future.
