Pune: A tragic incident occurred at Naafi Steel Yard in Kudalwadi, Chikhali, where a worker, Mohanlal Jokhanprasad Gautam from Uttar Pradesh, lost his life after being trapped in a machine.

The incident prompted the Chikhali police to arrest the company owners, Faiyyaz Umar Shaikh (52) and Farukh Umar Shaikh (58), who reside in Jambhulkar Chowk, Wanawadi, Pune.

According to the police, the company management was obligated to hire trained personnel for operating their machinery.

Despite being aware that untrained workers could face fatal accidents while using the equipment, the owners allegedly assigned Mohanlal Gautam, who lacked proper training, to operate the machine. Tragically, Mohanlal got trapped in the machinery during work, which led to his death.

Authorities have charged the owners with negligence, and further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their responsibility in the worker’s death.

The Chikhali police are currently reviewing the company’s safety protocols and employment practices to ensure compliance with labor regulations.
