Pune: Two minor boys, aged 13 and 11, who had gone missing from Manjari on Saturday, were successfully located and reunited with their parents within two days by the Wagholi Police. The boys, identified as Soham Chandrakant Jangam (13) and Aryan Upendra Singh Tomar (11), were found in Solapur and brought back late Monday night.
The search operation began after Pramila Chandrakant Jangam (40), a resident of Manjari Khurd, filed a missing persons complaint. Acting swiftly, the Wagholi Police formed two dedicated teams to track the children.
Preliminary leads suggested their presence at Oxygen Park in Wadgaon Sheri. Further coordination with Kurduwadi Police revealed that the boys were spotted on a train.
Responding immediately, a police team was dispatched to Solapur, where the boys were taken into custody. They were later handed over to their relieved parents.
Investigations revealed that the two close friends had left home after one of them was scolded by his mother over academic performance, prompting the other to accompany him.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad, showcasing the department's commitment to swift and effective action in cases involving minors.
Pune Police had launched Operation Muskan - 13, a special initiative to trace missing children and women from the city. The month-long campaign was conducted between December 1 and December 30.
