Chinchwad: Dr. Mohan Bhagwat to Inaugurate 463rd Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Festival

The event, organized by Chinchwad Devasthan Trust, PCMC and the local community, will feature religious rituals, lectures, and cultural performances.

Pune: The 463rd Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Sanjeevan Samadhi Festival is set to take place from December 17 to 21, 2024, at Chinchwad, Pimpri. The event, organized by the Chinchwad Devasthan Trust, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and the local community, will feature religious rituals, lectures, and cultural performances.

The festival will be inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, on December 17 at 5 PM.

Cultural and Religious Events:

  • Daily Sanai-Chaughada performances by Nitin Daithankar and Shri Tukaram Daithankar will start at 6 AM at the Samadhi Temple and Shrimangalmurti Wada, respectively.

  • A Lakshmi-Narayan Yagna will be conducted by Vedic scholar Shri Rabade Guruji.

December 17:

  • Inauguration ceremony by Dr. Mohan Bhagwat.

  • Lecture by Aparna Kulkarni on "Swatantryaveer Savarkar."

  • Music recital SwarSanjeevan by Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar at 8:30 PM.

December 18:

  • Kirtan by Sharadbua Ghag.

  • Devotional program Mazya Morayacha Dharma Jago.

  • Bhakti music recital by Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi.

December 19:

  • Lecture on Tilak Parva by Avinash Dharmadhikari.

  • Light music concert by Bela Shende.

December 20:

  • Health and blood donation camp.

  • Musical performances by Pandit Shahid Parvez (sitar), Pandit Rajas Upadhye (violin), and Pandit Vijay Ghate (tabla).

December 21:

Lifetime Achievement Award:

Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar will receive the Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Lifetime Achievement Award on December 20, presented by Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid.

Adv. Rajendra Umap, trustee of Chinchwad Devasthan, revealed that hundreds of acres of trust land are under unauthorized possession, with over 50 cases pending before the Charity Commissioner.
