Pune: In a tragic incident that has left the community in shock, a 45-year-old auto driver, Raju Narayan Rajbhar, ended his life after enduring prolonged harassment by private moneylenders. The incident occurred on Friday (January 3) afternoon at Rajbhar’s residence in Sai Baba Nagar, Chinchwad Station.

The deceased recorded a video before taking his life, revealing the relentless pressure and threats he faced over interest payments. In the video, he apologized to his wife, son, and daughter for his decision. He also left a two-page suicide note blaming the accused for his extreme action.

Rajbhar had borrowed money from four individuals but had already repaid the principal amount. Despite this, the accused continued to demand unpaid interest. The harassment included threats of violence, with the accused reportedly barging into his house and saying, "We will kill you, we will cut you into pieces." The continued threats caused immense mental distress to Rajbhar.

Unable to bear the torment, Rajbhar hanged himself at his residence. His son, Ganesh Rajbhar, has filed a police complaint, and a case has been registered against Hanumanta alias Avinash Gunde, Mahadev Phule, Rajivkumar alias Guddu Bhaiya, and an unnamed woman.

The video and the suicide note have gone viral on social media, prompting widespread outrage. Auto drivers in the region have expressed anger over the incident and are demanding strict action against the accused moneylenders. They are calling for harsher regulations to prevent such exploitative practices.
