Pune: Hours before a brutal attack on an IT professional in Kothrud’s Bhelkenagar area, notorious gangster Gaja Marne was seen watching a movie with 36 of his associates at City Pride Kothrud. Police investigations confirmed that all 36 members had purchased tickets and attended the screening together.

Gaja Marne, known for his violent gang activities, reportedly fears attacks from rival factions. As a precaution, he never moves alone and is always accompanied by his gang members. On the day of the incident, he followed the same pattern and arrived at the movie theater in a large group, traveling in two Fortuner SUVs, one additional car, and 7–8 two-wheelers.

Following the assault on IT engineer Devendra Jog, police launched an extensive investigation and reviewed CCTV footage from multiple locations. Security camera footage from City Pride Kothrud confirmed the presence of 36 individuals with Gaja Marne.

To establish their movements prior to the attack, police examined CCTV footage from City Pride Kothrud, ticket purchase records, and witness statements from theater security personnel.

Investigators also reviewed footage from other locations along their route to track all individuals involved. Authorities are now working to identify additional gang members who supported the main four accused in the attack.
