Pune: A female police constable from Pune, Anagha Sunil Dhawale, has been suspended for allegedly threatening her friend's wife to engage in illicit relations with another man.

The Pune Police took swift action after a complaint was filed in Kolhapur’s Gadhinglaj Police Station, bringing to light shocking allegations against the constable.

Anagha Dhawale, who was assigned to the Kothrud Traffic Division reportedly issued grave threats to her friend’s wife.

Dhawale allegedly told the woman to establish an affair with another man, warning her that if she did not comply, she and her family would be killed by electric shock. This led to immediate disciplinary action, resulting in Dhawale’s suspension.

The case took an even darker turn when Dhawale, while threatening the victim, boasted of her criminal connections.

She is said to have claimed, “I am a local from Pune, and I have ties with gangsters. We run a social foundation, and through this foundation, we convert black money into white. We recently completed a transaction worth ₹9 crore, and your husband is supposed to get ₹40-50 lakh from it.”

The victim, fearing for her life and that of her family, lodged a formal complaint with the Gadhinglaj Police Station in Kolhapur district. The case was escalated to the Pune Police, who have since launched an investigation into the allegations. The department responded promptly, suspending Dhawale from duty pending further inquiries into the matter.
