While all organizations unanimously support the campaign for copy-free exams, they view the decision to transfer exam-related personnel as a sign of distrust towards teachers.

Pune: In Maharashtra, various educational organizations have demanded the immediate withdrawal of the directive to replace center directors, supervisors, and non-teaching staff at exam centers under the "Copy-Free Exam" campaign.

They warned that failure to revoke this decision would result in a boycott of key processes, including the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 examinations and answer sheet evaluations, conducted by the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Distrust of Teachers Under Question

While all organizations unanimously support the campaign for cheating-free exams, they view the decision to transfer exam-related personnel as a sign of distrust towards teachers. Speaking on behalf of the associations, Nandkumar Sagar, Secretary of the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary School Principals’ Association, emphasized that such measures undermine the integrity of educators and should be rescinded immediately.

The demand has gained the backing of several prominent organizations, including the Maharashtra State Institution Heads Association, Maharashtra State Teachers’ Democratic Front, Maharashtra Secondary Education Association, and Maharashtra State Education Council.

Assurance from the State Board

On Friday, a delegation of representatives from these organizations met with State Board Chairman Sharad Gosavi to present their case. In response, Gosavi assured that discussions with senior officials would be held to address their concerns and find a resolution to the contentious directive.

Key Attendees

The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Pune division’s teacher MLA Jayant Asgaonkar, Association President Tanaji Mane, Vice President Sunil Pandit, spokespersons Prasad Gaikwad and Mahendra Ganpule, among others.
