COVID-19 vaccine will be ready in next few weeks, says PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the all-party meeting with the floor leaders of all political parties of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the country on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, " The plan for COVID-19 vaccine is ready. The vaccine will be ready in the next few weeks. The COVID-19 warriors will be the first one to get the doses of the vaccine."

In an address, he said, "In the first phase, healthcare workers, frontline workers and elderly would be vaccinated. India is one of the largest networks with experience in vaccine programmes. With the help from state administrations, logistical support such as cold storage is being measured."

He also assured that centre and states and working on the vaccine distribution plan and we don't have to wait for long.

PM Modi concluded, "Nearly eight vaccines are on different stages of trial with their manufacturing assured in the country. Three vaccines from India are at different stages of development and health experts believe that the vaccine isn't too far away."
