Nagpur police have arrested two persons and launched a manhunt for a third after a 24-year-old woman, wife of a serving Indian Air Force officer, filed a complaint alleging rape, blackmail, financial extortion, and forced religious conversion. The case, which dates back to February 2025, came to light only recently after the woman confided in her husband and formally approached police on June 13.

What the Complaint States

According to the FIR, the complainant's ordeal began on February 8, 2025, when her former classmate, Ayyaz Taj Madare, 26, invited her to a hotel in Nagpur on the pretext of a property transaction. She alleged that he spiked her drink, rendering her unconscious, and that she was subsequently raped. Madare allegedly recorded explicit videos and photographs during the assault and later used them to blackmail her repeatedly, extorting approximately ₹3 to 4 lakh over the following months.

The woman further alleged that she was later taken to Kalmeshwar in Nagpur, where she was introduced to two other individuals, Ameen Sheikh and a cleric identified as Hazrat Maulana and pressured to undergo religious conversion against her will.

The Viral Video

A video that surfaced on social media has become central to the investigation. The clip shows the complainant visibly distressed, crying out "Chhodo mujhe" meaning "let me go" while Madare holds her hands and chants religious verses. Nagpur police have confirmed the video is being treated as key electronic evidence in the case.

Police Action

Nagpur police have arrested Ayyaz Taj Madare and Ameen Sheikh. A search is underway for the cleric, Hazrat Maulana, who is believed to be in Madhya Pradesh. A police team has been dispatched to the state. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishikesh Reddy confirmed that charges of rape, repeated sexual assault, extortion, blackmail, and forced conversion have been registered, along with relevant provisions of Maharashtra's anti-black magic and human sacrifice prohibition laws.

The woman had remained silent for over a year out of fear, given her marital status and the threat of the recorded videos being leaked. Police said she eventually gathered the courage to inform her husband, after which the complaint was filed.
