Pune: In an alarming incident in Mundhwa, a group of eight individuals has been charged with attempted murder after attacking two people who were trying to intervene in a dispute during a Dandiya dance event.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night at 9:30 PM at the Shiv Mitra Mandal on B.T. Kawade Road.

The victims, Anand Devendra Mangle (45), suffered serious injuries when he was attacked with a sharp weapon. His wife, Sheetal Anand Mangle, filed a complaint with the Mundhwa police following the assault.

According to the police, the complainant and her husband had gone to the Shiv Mitra Mandal to participate in Dandiya festivities. During the event, a disagreement broke out, and one of the accused, Maruti Gawandi, started assaulting Rajvardhan Nugla.

When Anand Mangle stepped in to defuse the situation, the attackers, holding a prior grudge, targeted him. Ishwar Dandele used a sharp weapon to strike Anand on the left side of his neck, in an apparent attempt to kill him.

The Mundhwa police have registered a case of attempted murder against the eight individuals involved, and Assistant Police Inspector Tapare is leading the investigation.

Recently, a minor boy attempted to murder an elderly man following a seemingly trivial altercation. The incident took place in front of a two-wheeler garage in Ganesh Colony, where 68-year-old Bashir Haider Chaudhary was standing.

The altercation began when a 16-year-old boy, standing nearby, was gargling, and some of the water splashed onto Chaudhary. This accidental splash of water set off a chain of events that escalated into a serious physical attack.
