Pune: In a recent incident at the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) training center in Nanveej, Daund, a man posing as a police driver was arrested for trespassing and suspiciously filming the facility’s premises.

The individual, identified as 25-year-old Jay Rajendra Yadav, allegedly entered the training center on November 23, disguising himself as a police driver and capturing videos of the SRPF’s secured areas.

According to Inspector Gopal Pawar of the Daund Police Station, Yadav, a resident of Virshi, Bhatkuli in Amravati district, arrived at the SRPF center’s entrance on Thursday afternoon and introduced himself as a driver with the police force.

Dressed in SRPF-branded attire, including a T-shirt and pants commonly associated with physical training, he managed to convince the gate security and gained access to the training center.

Once inside, Yadav reportedly used his mobile phone to take photographs and videos of key areas, including buildings, offices, and open grounds. His actions aroused suspicion among the on-duty officers, who intervened and questioned him.

During the interrogation, Yadav claimed he was a driver in the Amravati District Police and had undergone training at the same facility a year ago. He was also found to be carrying a fake SRPF identification card, which, however, lacked any official signature or rank designation.

Sub-Inspector Dattu Shinde of the SRPF filed a complaint at the Daund Police Station. Based on his report, police have charged Yadav under Sections 333 and 205 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Section 333 pertains to unlawful trespassing with intentions to cause harm or assault, while Section 205 addresses impersonation using the uniform or identification mark of a public servant. The Daund Police took Yadav into custody following the charges.

Upon further investigation, police recovered a cap, training boots, and a belt from Yadav, all closely resembling official police gear. The police are actively investigating Yadav's motives for entering the SRPF training center and recording videos of its premises.
