Pune: In a shocking incident, an unemployed youth was arrested for trespassing into the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Training Center in Nanveej, Daund Taluka, after falsely claiming to be a police officer to his family.

The accused, identified as Jai Rajendra Yadav (25) from Virshi, Bhatkuli taluka in Amravati district, had fabricated a story of being recruited into the police force to impress his wife and family during his wedding.

After a year of failing to show any proof of his employment, his family grew suspicious and began demanding answers.

On November 23, Yadav entered the SRPF Training Center wearing a police uniform. He was caught filming videos and taking photographs of the premises, including buildings, offices, and training grounds.

His actions raised suspicion among the training center’s officials, who subsequently detained and interrogated him.

Upon questioning, it was revealed that Yadav was impersonating a police officer. He confessed that his intent was to convince his wife and family of his false employment by showcasing photographs and videos of the center.

Inspector Gopal Pawar from Daund Police Station confirmed that Yadav had lied to his wife at the time of their marriage, falsely claiming to be part of the police force.

Assistant Inspector Yogita Bodkhe, leading the investigation, revealed that Yadav had failed the SRPF recruitment exams twice but had undergone taekwondo training.

Though initial investigations do not indicate any malicious intent, the authorities are probing all possible angles. Yadav was granted bail after spending a day in police custody, as per court orders.
