DIAT and BITS Pilani Sign MoU to Boost Research and National Security Collaboration

The MoU was signed by DIAT Vice Chancellor Dr. BHVS Narayana Murthy and BITS Pilani Vice Chancellor Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao.

Pune: The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, have entered into a landmark Academic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster collaboration in research, education, and training.

The MoU, signed by DIAT Vice Chancellor Dr. BHVS Narayana Murthy and BITS Pilani Vice Chancellor Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, represents a significant step toward advancing cutting-edge technologies for national security.

This strategic partnership will facilitate numerous initiatives, including:

  • Joint research and development projects.

  • Student and faculty exchange programs.

  • Resource sharing for academic and research purposes.

  • Collaborative internships, and M.Tech. and PhD dissertations.

Highlighting the importance of the partnership, Prof. Ramgopal Rao remarked, “This collaboration holds immense strategic importance, enabling the development of advanced indigenous technologies for national security.”

Dr. Narayana Murthy added, “Both students and faculty will gain significantly from this partnership, enhancing their academic and professional pursuits.”

As part of the ceremony, Prof. Ramgopal Rao delivered an insightful lecture in DIAT’s Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS), sharing his expertise and vision for innovation.

He was joined by Prof. Sanket Goel, Dean of Research and Innovation at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, and Dr. MRM Babu, Professor of Practice at the same campus.

This MoU marks a pivotal moment for both institutions, combining their strengths to contribute to national security and technological advancements while fostering academic excellence.
