Pune: Residents of Runwal Park in Dighi have been facing severe water supply issues for the past six months, with low water pressure affecting around 150 apartments. Despite repeated complaints, the situation remains unresolved, forcing residents to rely on water tankers.
The municipal corporation installed new water pipelines in the area five years ago. However, residents claim that they were not provided direct connections to these new pipelines, leading to inadequate water supply.
Dighi was integrated into the municipal corporation in 1997, and at that time, four-inch diameter pipelines were laid. As the population has grown, these pipelines have become insufficient. Additionally, since the pipelines are buried three to four feet deep, residents must use water pumps to get adequate water pressure.
Near Ganpati Temple on Road No. 10, a damaged water pipeline has been leaking for the past month, causing significant water wastage. Residents have lodged complaints with municipal authorities, but no action has been taken.
