Pune: In two separate incidents in Pune's Sahakarnagar and Kondhwa areas, two women were violently attacked by their husbands — one on suspicion of infidelity and the other over a refusal to live together.

Both cases have led to police complaints being filed, bringing to light concerns about women's safety within their own homes.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman from the Taljai Vasahat Padmavati area of Sahakarnagar was brutally assaulted by her husband on August 24.

According to her complaint lodged with Sahakarnagar Police Station, the husband, suspecting her of infidelity, violently beat her to the point of unconsciousness.

As she attempted to leave the house, the husband allegedly pushed her to the ground, strangled her until she passed out, and then fled the scene after locking her inside. The case is currently under investigation by Woman Police Sub-Inspector Kale.

The second case occurred on August 25 in Indiranagar Lane No. 1, where a 30-year-old woman was attacked by her estranged husband. The husband, identified as Rajvali Haroon Mulani, reportedly assaulted her with a sharp weapon after she refused to reconcile and live with him.

The woman, who had been living separately for a year, sustained multiple injuries on her neck. A case has been registered at Kondhwa Police Station, and the investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Godse.

Both incidents highlight the alarming rise in domestic violence cases and underscore the need for stronger protective measures for women. Authorities are continuing their investigations and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
