Pune: Passengers on IndiGo flight 6E 1484 from Dubai to Pune faced significant inconvenience on Wednesday (January 15) night, waiting over two hours for their luggage due to a technical malfunction in the baggage screening system.

The flight, which departed Dubai at 5:40 PM, landed earlier than its scheduled arrival time of 10:10 PM, touching down at Pune Airport at 9:40 PM. However, passengers were left frustrated as baggage retrieval began only at 11:15 PM.

One of the passengers, shared his displeasure, stating, “Despite the early landing, the baggage delay caused significant inconvenience. No information was provided, and passengers were left stranded.” He also raised concerns about poor traffic management outside Terminal 2, adding to the chaos.

Another affected passenger, said his wife waited nearly two hours for her luggage. “It’s unacceptable that baggage took so long despite an early landing. Mismanagement worsened the experience,” he remarked.

IndiGo officials attributed the delay to a malfunction in the baggage screening machine. Pune Airport officials said that the delay might have been caused by customs inspections or airline staff issues, though he claimed he was not aware of the incident.

The situation also resulted in heavy congestion at the airport’s pickup area, with passengers struggling to find transportation.
