Pune: A 19-year-old accused in a chapter case has been arrested for forging documents and presenting a fake guarantor to evade legal obligations.

The incident took place at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1, Pimpri-Chinchwad, on Thursday (November 28) afternoon.

The accused, Shubham Ashok Madiwal, a resident of Hadapsar, was facing legal proceedings under a chapter case.

In an attempt to comply with the case requirements, he fabricated documents to present Vikas Krishna Mane, a 28-year-old resident of Mane Vasti, Nandure village, Solapur District, as a fake guarantor.

Madiwal altered Mane’s identity and address, creating counterfeit documents under the name "Santosh Maruti Talekar" of Nigdi.

The forged documents were submitted to the Deputy Commissioner's office. Upon scrutiny, the forgery was detected, leading to the immediate arrest of both Madiwal and Mane. They were handed over to Chinchwad police for further investigation.

Assistant Police Inspector Vitthal Karambalkar is spearheading the inquiry to uncover additional details about the forgery and its motives.
