According to officials from PMC’s building development department, the establishments located next to Joggers’ Park had been converted into pubs and restaurants without approval. Despite several notices and inspections, the outlets continued operations in violation of civic rules.

The FIR, lodged on Tuesday, cites Sections 52 and 53 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act against the owners and other responsible persons. Assistant Inspector Mahesh Lamkhede is leading the investigation.

Authorities said strict action was essential to curb unauthorized commercial activity, adding that such violations pose regulatory and safety risks to the public.
