Gang of Four Arrested for Stealing Copper Wires

The accused have been identified as Abdul Rehman of Satav Nagar, Anil Gupta, Shivam Kashyap and Vishal Kashyap of Vishrantwadi.

Wagholi: Wagholi police busted a gang involved in stealing copper wires. Four people were arrested in connection with the case. Property worth Rs 13 lakh, including a pick-up, was seized from them.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Rehman of Satav Nagar, Anil Gupta, Shivam Kashyap and Vishal Kashyap of Vishrantwadi in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh.

Agrico Energy Rental India Copper wires worth Rs 17 lakh were stolen from the company on October 24. A case was registered in this regard. The CCTV footage showed the vehicle through which the wires were taken.

It belonged to the Porter Company. Police obtained the vehicle's number and the driver's name from the company. The driver was later taken into custody from Hadapsar. He gave the names of other accomplices. He admitted to stealing at two locations.

Senior police inspector Pandit Rejitwad of Wagholi, assistant police inspector Shirish Bhalerao of the investigation team, staff Prashant Karnawar, Deepak Kokre, Pritam Wagh and Vishal Gaikwad took the action.
