Pune: In an early morning accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Warje Bridge, a gas tanker overturned, causing a complete traffic standstill on the route.

The tanker, traveling from Mumbai towards Satara, reportedly lost control and overturned near a church. The incident has led to extensive traffic jams, with motorists facing significant delays.

Upon receiving the accident report, police and disaster management teams rushed to the scene, implementing safety measures due to the potential risk of gas leakage.

To mitigate the risk, authorities have stationed special teams to secure the site and work on clearing the traffic.

The accident has resulted in heavy traffic congestion, stretching over long distances on both sides of the expressway. Many commuters have been left stranded, waiting in long lines of vehicles. Police are guiding drivers to alternative routes near the Warje Bridge to help manage the situation.

In light of the potential hazard from the gas tanker, police have temporarily stopped traffic on both sides of the expressway for safety. Authorities have also urged citizens to remain calm and comply with instructions to ensure a safe and orderly resolution to the incident.

While the accident has caused a significant traffic delay on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the quick response from the disaster management team has helped prevent a potentially larger disaster.
