Pune: Fifteen Indian Navy officers graduated from the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) in Pune, marking the successful completion of the Naval Technical Staff Course (NTSC) in a ceremony held on Friday (July 5).

This ab-initio course trains officers of the Naval Armament Inspection Cadre (NAIC). Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, AVSM, NM, Commandant of the National Defence Academy (NDA), presided as the chief guest.

Vice Admiral Singh, in his valedictory speech, underscored the significance of assimilating and applying the advanced technological knowledge acquired during the course, with an emphasis on fostering indigenization in naval armaments. He urged the newly graduated officers to innovate continually in their roles and ensure the reliability of weapon systems.

Awards were presented by the chief guest to recognize outstanding achievements among the graduates. Lieutenant Sriponmalar P secured the top position in overall merit, followed by Lieutenant Priya Nandal in second place.

The Best Allrounder award went to Lieutenant Neelam Rana, while the award for best dissertation work was shared by Lieutenant Sakshi Solanki and Lieutenant Mohammad Arif Khan. Additionally, Lieutenant Jasmine was acknowledged for her exceptional contributions to various MILIT activities.

Vice Admiral Singh commended the MILIT training team for their ongoing efforts to refine the course content, incorporating training on specialized technologies to maintain its relevance.

He encouraged the officers to leverage the expertise gained at MILIT in their future roles, ensuring the protection of maritime assets, Indian coastlines, and the high seas.
