Pune police investigation has revealed that the 47-year-old bank employee Vasudev Ramchandra Kulkarni was brutally murdered by three Minors and one youth following a minor altercation with the suspects in Hadapsar area on Sunday (September 1) night.

Kulkarni, a resident of Utkarshnagar and an employee of a private bank, had stepped out for a post-dinner walk when he was attacked with a machete by the minors who were loitering on the sidewalk.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when Kulkarni encountered the group near the sidewalk in the Utkarshnagar area. A trivial argument ensued between Kulkarni and the minors, which quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

The minors, displaying criminal behavior, attacked Kulkarni with a machete, leaving him gravely injured. Following the attack, the assailants fled the scene, leaving Kulkarni in a pool of blood.

Eyewitnesses alerted the authorities, and Kulkarni was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival, as the injuries sustained during the attack proved fatal.

The Hadapsar Police, led by Senior Inspector Santosh Pandhare, quickly initiated an investigation and apprehended three minors along with a youth from the Bantar School area.

During questioning, the suspects confessed to the attack, stating that the dispute with Kulkarni was minor and not premeditated. Inspector Pandhare confirmed that Kulkarni had no prior acquaintance with the attackers and had merely crossed paths with them during his walk.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security in the area, with local residents urging for increased police patrols and stricter measures against youth engaging in criminal activities.
