Pune: A tragic accident at Laxmi Chowk in Hinjewadi on Friday (July 5) around 2 PM claimed the life of a young motorcyclist.

Karan Kalidas Jadhav, 23, was fatally injured after being hit by a speeding motorcycle and subsequently run over by a tanker from Matoshree Water Suppliers.

The incident occurred when Karan Jadhav, along with his sister Kranti Jadhav, 21, was on his way to drop Kranti at a company in Marunji. They had stopped at a signal at Laxmi Chowk when a speeding motorcycle collided with them. Both siblings were thrown off their motorcycle due to the impact.

As the siblings lay injured on the road, a tanker, marked 'Matoshree Water Suppliers,' approached at high speed and ran over Karan, causing severe injuries that led to his death. The tanker driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.

Kranti Jadhav has filed a complaint at the Hinjewadi police station. The police have registered a case against the unidentified riders of both the speeding motorcycle and the tanker under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to apprehend the drivers responsible for the accident.
