Husband and Wife Die in Car Accident on Pune-Nashik Highway; One Seriously Injured

Deceased Sachin Vasantrao Darekar (57) and Rama Sachin Darekar (53), along with Seema Surendra Deshmukh and Surendra Deshmukh, had left their residence in Guruwar Peth-Darekar Wada, Pune.

Pune: A devastating road accident on the Pune-Nashik National Highway claimed the lives of a husband and wife and left one person seriously injured.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday (January 26) morning, around 8:30 a.m., in Malwadi Shivara, Bota (Sangamner Taluka). The impact of the accident completely destroyed the car.

The victims, identified as Sachin Vasantrao Darekar (57) and Rama Sachin Darekar (53), along with Seema Surendra Deshmukh and Surendra Deshmukh, had left their residence in Guruwar Peth-Darekar Wada, Pune, at 5:30 a.m. They were traveling to Nashik to attend a wedding.

As their car approached Malwadi Shivar on the Pune-Nashik National Highway, an accident occurred, the cause of which is yet to be confirmed. The injured were immediately taken to a private hospital in Aalephata.

Tragically, Sachin Darekar and Rama Darekar were declared dead before treatment could begin. Seema Deshmukh, who sustained serious injuries, is undergoing treatment, while the condition of Surendra Deshmukh remains unconfirmed.

Upon learning of the incident, Ghargaon Police Inspector Digambar Bhadaane, accompanied by constables Pramod Gadekar, Subhash Bodkhe, and Sainath Divate, rushed to the scene. The accident has left the Darekar family in mourning.

Based on a statement provided by Sachin Darekar’s brother, Satish Vasantrao Darekar, a case of accidental death has been registered at the Ghargaon Police Station. Assistant Police Inspector Kalpesh Dabhade is leading the investigation into the incident.
