Pune, 4th December 2024: Bund Garden Police have detained a Bangladeshi woman near Pune Railway Station for illegally entering India.
The woman, identified as Muslamiya Abdul Aziz Pyada (27), a resident of West Kolagasia, Amtoli, Borguna, Bangladesh, was found near platform number six’s rickshaw stand on Tuesday (December 3) evening.
The police patrol team grew suspicious of her behavior and questioned her. During the inquiry, it was revealed that she had entered India without valid travel documents, such as a passport or visa. Initial investigations suggest that she crossed the border illegally with the help of a broker.
A case has been registered under the Passport Act and the Foreigners Act for violating entry regulations. The investigation aims to uncover the purpose of her visit and identify anyone in Pune who may have been involved in facilitating her stay.
Assistant Inspector Mujawar is heading the investigation under the supervision of Senior Inspector Ravindra Gaikwad.
Authorities recall similar incidents from last year when Bangladeshi women and brokers were detained from Pune’s Budhwar Peth red-light area.
Additionally, action was taken in Pimpri-Chinchwad against Bangladeshi intruders. It is often reported that women from Bangladesh are enticed with job offers but later coerced into prostitution.
