International Women’s Day: PMPML Announces Free Bus Service for Women on 13 Routes in Pune

The PMPML administration has stated that this initiative will help make public transport more convenient and safe for women.

Pune: On the occasion of International Women's Day, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has introduced free bus travel for women on March 8, 2025. As part of this initiative, 15 special buses will operate exclusively for women across 13 major routes in Pune.

This move aims to make public transport more accessible and safer for female commuters, including working women, students, and homemakers. The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from women passengers across the city.

Routes Covered Under Free Travel for Women

PMPML will provide free bus services for women on the following 13 routes:

  • Swargate to Hadapsar

  • Swargate to Dhayari

  • Kothrud Depot to Pune Station

  • NDA Gate to Municipal Corporation Office (Manpa Bhavan)

  • Katraj to Maharashtra Housing Board

  • Katraj to Kothrud

  • Hadapsar Bus Stand to Warje Malwadi

  • Bhekrai Nagar to Municipal Corporation Office (PMC Building)

  • Market Yard to Pimple Gurav

  • Pune Station to Kondhwa Khurd

  • Nigdi to Hinjawadi

  • Bhosari to Nigdi

  • Chikhali to Dange Chowk

The PMPML administration has stated that this initiative will help make public transport more convenient and safe for women. Since a large number of female passengers rely on PMPML buses daily, this scheme will provide them with an opportunity to enjoy free travel on Women’s Day.
