Pune: The 39th Annual National Conference of the Indian Society for Study of Pain (ISSPCON 2025) highlighted a crucial discussion on the future of pain management. Among the key sessions, Dr. Kashinath Bangar’s presentation on CT-Guided T2/T3 Radiofrequency Ablation (RF Ablation) stood out as a transformative approach in pain treatment.

Chronic pain is an increasing public health challenge in India. Studies show that approximately 19.3% of the Indian population suffers from chronic pain conditions such as back pain, joint pain, and leg pain. With pain disorders becoming more prevalent, there is a rising demand for effective and precision-based treatment methods.

Addressing an audience of over 250 pain specialists and international delegates, Dr. Bangar emphasized the role of CT-guided interventions in modern pain medicine. He explained how radiofrequency ablation (RFA) guided by CT scans offers higher accuracy, enhanced safety, and better outcomes in pain relief, making it a breakthrough in interventional pain management.

“Precision in pain management is the future. CT-guided RF ablation is revolutionizing chronic pain treatment, offering targeted relief with minimal complications,” said Dr. Bangar, highlighting the potential of this cutting-edge technology in pain therapy.

As a General Council Member of the Indian Academy of Pain Medicine (IAPM), Dr. Bangar also discussed the importance of structured training programs in pain management. He emphasized the need for global standardization of pain treatment protocols to ensure better patient outcomes.
