On Tuesday, the Union government summoned Meta’s global head of public policy after a Facebook post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, concerning steps to prevent examination paper leaks, was temporarily taken down from the platform, triggering a response from the Ministry of Electronics and Information.
PTI reported that the ministry has asked Meta to clarify why the post was taken down.
The video, shared on July 23 during the student protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party, featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing young people and vowing tough action to prevent exam paper leaks.
A Meta spokesperson stated that the material was mistakenly taken down and has now been reinstated on the platform. "The content was removed in error and has since been restored," the spokesperson said.
