According to the FIR, parents enrolled their children in FIITJEE’s highly sought-after JEE coaching programs, paying substantial advance fees with the expectation of quality instruction and support. However, after collecting payments, the institute allegedly failed to provide the agreed-upon classes and support, leaving students and their families stranded during a crucial phase of their academic journey.

The Pune case is the latest in a series of complaints against FIITJEE nationwide, with similar allegations surfacing in Chandigarh, Noida, and other cities. In Chandigarh, over 200 students and their parents were left in limbo after the abrupt closure of a FIITJEE center, with advance fees amounting to ₹1.5–2 crore reportedly stuck.

The Pune FIR is part of a broader pattern of alleged financial misconduct by FIITJEE management. Across India, police and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are investigating claims that the institute collected crores in advance fees from thousands of students, then shut down centers without notice or refund. In several cases, faculty salaries also went unpaid, compounding the impact on both students and staff.

Investigations have revealed that the funds collected were allegedly siphoned off for unauthorized personal use, with little transparency or accountability. The ED probe estimates that more than 14,000 students may have been affected, with total losses exceeding ₹250 crore nationwide.

The FIR in Pune names FIITJEE Chairman DK Goel and key staff members as accused, charging them under sections related to cheating, criminal breach of trust, and conspiracy. Similar cases have been registered in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, with authorities seeking to recover fees and hold the accused accountable.

Despite the mounting evidence, FIITJEE’s management has denied any wrongdoing, calling the allegations a “conspiracy” by competitors and attributing center closures to “force majeure” conditions. However, parents and students continue to demand justice, refunds, and stricter regulation of the coaching sector.

For the affected families, the scam has resulted in significant financial loss, emotional distress, and disruption of students’ academic plans. Many students were left without access to classes or study materials at a critical time, jeopardizing their chances in competitive exams like the JEE.

Parent associations and consumer rights groups are now calling for government intervention, better oversight of coaching institutes, and a transparent mechanism for fee refunds and grievance redressal.
