K Raheja Group CSR Funds Basic Amenities, Ambulance for Yerawada Jail

The CSR funds will be used to provide drinking water, sanitation facilities, a state-of-the-art ambulance, and other essential services.

Pune: The K Raheja Group has contributed ₹70.81 lakh to the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune, aimed at improving basic facilities for inmates and officers.

The CSR funds will be used to provide drinking water, sanitation facilities, a state-of-the-art ambulance, and other essential services.

A first installment of ₹20 lakh was handed over on Friday (September 20) by K Raheja Group's CEO, Jayant Gosavi, to Swati Sathe, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons, Western Region, Pune. The remaining funds will be utilized in the coming phases to complete the project.

The initiative is part of a broader effort by the prison administration to improve the living conditions of inmates and enhance the working environment for officers and staff.

The program has been designed and implemented under the leadership of senior officials, including Prashant Burde (IPS), Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons, and Dr. Jalindar Supekar (IPS), Special Inspector General of Police (Prisons), Maharashtra State. The entire project is being executed with guidance from Swati Sathe.

Yerawada Central Jail Superintendent Sunil Dhamal, along with Additional Superintendent P.P. Kadam and other officials from the prison department, are overseeing the on-ground implementation of the initiative.

Representatives from the K. Raheja Group, including Associate Vice President Narendra Wadnere, are also involved in ensuring the smooth execution of the project.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Nitin Vaychal, Principal of Daultarao Jadhav Prison Officer Training College, Pune; Anil Khamkar, Superintendent of Yerawada District Open Jail; and other senior officers.
