Pune: A minor road accident in Kalewadi escalated into a violent brawl between two groups, culminating in mutual allegations of attempted murder. Six individuals have been arrested, and cases have been filed against both groups by Kalewadi Police.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday near Lane No. 1 in Pawar Nagar, Kalewadi. The clash originated from a minor accident that damaged the indicator of a motorcycle belonging to one of the complainants.
Akshay Dilip Bhosale, a resident of Pawar Nagar, filed a complaint alleging that Dheeraj Dharmaraj Yadav, along with his associates, attacked him after he demanded compensation for the motorcycle damage. According to the complaint, Yadav called his friends, who assaulted Bhosale using wooden sticks and a plastic bucket. Bhosale’s brother, Anup, and their friend, Pranav Gawli, were also injured when they tried to intervene.
Acting on this complaint, Kalewadi Police arrested Dheeraj Yadav, Happy Sandhu, Akshay Mandan, Ashpreet Singh Shahani, and Harish Washu Bhatia. Three of their associates have also been charged.
In a counter-complaint, Harish Washu Bhatia alleged that Anup Bhosale and his associates attacked him and his friends over the same motorcycle accident. Bhatia claimed that Bhosale and his group assaulted them with wooden sticks, hitting him on the head and injuring others on their limbs.
Based on Bhatia’s complaint, the police arrested Anup Bhosale and filed attempted murder charges against his brother Akshay Bhosale and their friend, Pranav Gawali.
The Kalewadi Police are investigating the matter under the supervision of Assistant Police Inspector Nalawade and Sub-Inspector Chavan. Both cases involve allegations of severe assault and attempted murder, and further arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
