Kathak Dance to Unfold Environmental Conservation Story

Admission will be given on a 'first come first serve' basis.

Pune: Puneites will get a chance to experience the life journey of Salumarada Thimmakka from Karnataka, known for her environmental protection and conservation.

The occasion is the launch of 'Unnayan', a dance play by Kathak guru Shama Bhate in association with 'Nad-Roop' and 'Art Hub' and in collaboration with 'Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute'.

The event will be held at 7 pm on Saturday at the open stage at Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute on Law College Road and is open to the public.

Admission will be given on a 'first come first serve' basis.
Salumarada Thimmakka lives in Hulikal, a village 80 kilometres from Bangalore in the state of Karnataka.

He has dedicated his entire life to protecting the environment. He is 113 years old and has planted more than 8,000 trees on the state highway and surrounding areas connecting the villages of Hulikal and Kudur.
