Kesari Tours Founder Kesari Patil Passes Away at 90

Pune: Kesari Patil, the visionary entrepreneur and founder of Kesari Tours, passed away early on Saturday (February 15) at the age of 90. His funeral was held at Shivaji Park Crematorium, attended by family members and prominent figures from various industries. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.

Kesari Patil’s life was marked by a remarkable transformation—from being an ideal teacher and innovative farmer to becoming one of India’s most well-known tour organizers.

In an era when tourism was still an emerging concept in India, he took a bold step by founding Kesari Tours on June 8, 1984, at the age of 50, a time when most people consider retirement. His dedication and vision helped make the name ‘Kesari’ synonymous with organized travel and tourism in India.

Under Patil’s leadership, Kesari Tours revolutionized the travel industry by making tourism accessible and organized for Indian travelers. His dream was twofold: to enable Indians to explore the world and to showcase the beauty of India to international tourists. Over the years, Kesari Tours expanded its reach, becoming one of the most trusted names in the industry.
