Pune: Real estate developers and agents have allegedly swindled 16 Adivasi-Paradhi families out of their rightful land in Pune’s Keshavnagar area. This land was originally allocated to them by the Maharashtra government in 1989. Unauthorized housing projects have already been constructed, prompting the Maharashtra Revenue Tribunal to prohibit any further construction or land transfers.

Fraudulent Acquisition of Government Land

  • In 1989, the Maharashtra government allotted two acres of land each to 16 Adivasi-Paradhi families.

  • Real estate developers and agents deceived these families, falsely promising them alternative land and monetary compensation in exchange for their plots.

  • The promised compensation was never given, and large residential projects were built instead.

  • Affected families have now taken legal action, represented by Advocates Suresh Palande and Dhairyashil Palande.

  • The High Court transferred the case to the Maharashtra Revenue Tribunal, which has issued an immediate halt on new construction and land transfers.

Threats and Attacks on Protesters

  • Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the developers have allegedly attempted to intimidate the Adivasi-Paradhi families.

  • Protesters were attacked by bodyguards allegedly sent by the developers.

  • Pressure is being exerted to forcibly vacate the land.

Police Allegedly Ignoring Complaints

  • The affected families have filed police complaints regarding the threats and assaults.

  • Despite clear complaints, no decisive police action has been taken.

  • Frustration and anger are growing among the victims due to inaction from authorities.

Adivasi Families Vow to Continue Their Fight

  • The victims have pledged to fight until they get justice.

  • They demand strict legal action against the fraudulent developers.

  • They are urging the government to intervene and ensure their land is restored.
