Pune: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly abducted, stripped, and brutally assaulted in a forested area of Mahadevwadi. The accused, numbering 11, reportedly beat him with a belt, injured him with sharp weapons, and later threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police. The incident occurred on March 16 at around 2 PM. Based on the victim’s complaint, the Khadki Police have registered a case against Vaibhav alias Pandya Aglave (29), Yash Chandane (22), and nine others.
Lured on a Ride, Taken to Forest
According to police sources, the victim was waiting at the SVS Garden bus stop to attend a birthday party when Vaibhav Aglave, whom he knew, approached him. Under the pretense of taking him for a ride, Aglave brought him to a deserted forested area in Mahadevwadi, where a group of 8-10 individuals was already gathered. Upon seeing him, the group allegedly remarked, “Now that we have him, we won’t let him go.” Some of the accused were reportedly armed with sharp weapons.
Assault and Threats
The victim was forced to stand in the center, while Aglave made a video call to Yash Chandane, who instructed the group to strip him naked and assault him. During the attack, Chandane allegedly questioned him about his friendship with two individuals and accused him of acting smart. Under threat of weapons, the assailants forcefully removed the victim’s clothes and used sharp objects to scratch and injure his back and legs. Vaibhav Aglave and Chhota Lohar allegedly inflicted cuts on his neck and body.
One of the accused was reportedly filming the assault while the others took turns whipping the victim with a waist belt. As the attack continued, the group allegedly warned the victim, stating, “Now you understand who we are. Stay away from our matters, or next time it will be worse.” They further threatened to kill him if he informed the police.
The assailants left the victim in an injured state in the forest, after which he returned home without informing anyone. The next day, when his mother noticed him limping, she questioned him, and he narrated the ordeal. The family then approached the Khadki Police Station to file a complaint.
